Online Entries

Image
Jack notices that entries have started to flow into the
centre and all of them to date have been via the new online system apparently.

If you haven’t already taken a look then please CLICK HERE to be taken directly to the Entries Page.

Jack tried it and reckons it is really simple to fill out an online entry, no harder than completing the printed version.

Once you have submitted your entry, you can then track its progress into the event. Simply click on Men’s, Women’s or Mixed Entries and check to see if your entry has been received.

Jack point out that your entry will not be complete until payment is received. Paid entries are submitted automatically for the draw. Unpaid entries by all accounts will not be submitted at the time of the draw. So check back once you have paid to make sure it has been received by the centre.

Jack would like to remind you that if you are paying online or by cheque, don’t leave it until the last minute or your entry may not be accepted.

You can Lead a Horse to Water but.....

Jack has been looking around websites lately such as Bowls Wellington, Bowls NZ, Sports NZ, Sports Wellington etc etc and the first thing that comes to mind is "Why are Club's failing"?

Jack sees tools and resources of every description all over these websites and yet.....Club's are still failing.

WHY WHY WHY WHYWHY WHYWHY WHYWHY WHYWHY WHYWHY WHYWHY WHY?

Well Jack reckons its simple.....PEOPLE! It's like the old saying that I'm sure you have heard...."You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink". The same applies with a lot of Bowling Clubs.

YOU CAN MAKE AVAILABLE ALL THE TOOLS & RESOURCES IN EXISTENCE BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE CLUBS USE THEM!

Did anyone take up RAYMOND MARTIN on his kind offer of helping out? To the best of my knowledge not a single request. In which case I'm sure Raymond will be expecting to see plenty of large events rocking the Wellington Centre this season? Jack will also be keeping an eye out. Don't ho…

Something's on his Goat

Jack thought he would take a little look at programs, local & national. Jack has been made aware that the centre have been preparing the handbook for the upcoming season and notes that part of this process includes collating the various galas and events from each club. “Must be a bit of work involved in that”! Jack says. WRONG! Pretty simple as it happens…..although it shouldn’t be. This is how it works. Apparently Bowls Wellingtons sends out the appropriate forms to be filled in by whomever at each club. The form is set out so clubs can record the list of events they are having during the season including date, time, type of event etc. So what did Jack pick up when he took a squiz at these completed forms? I’ll tell ya…..NOTHING NEW! Jack notes that he always hears a lot of noise in relation to nothing ever changing and how club’s are struggling and yet, here they are presented with the opportunity to shake things up and what do they do? They present the same event or gala program …
